Ingredients:
- 1 cup barnyard millet
- 2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons ghee or oil

- 1-inch piece of ginger, grated or finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
- 1 carrot, diced

- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder

Instructions:
- Rinse the barnyard millet under running water until the water runs clear. Drain and set aside.
Preparation:
- In a deep pan or pot, heat ghee or oil over medium heat.
- Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds. Let them splutter.
